A few days ago, Ken and I talked about traffic jam in Taiwan. He said someone always easy throws himself into a bad mood when he has a long line-up or traffic jam. Actually, despite I drive or ride a scooter, I not usually get angry in any situations. Therefore I’m a little confused why some people always have a bad mood in driving.

He told me that he has drove here since four years ago, but he isn’t still adaptable the traffic in Taiwan. In Canada, they drive like this:

From the video, we also can see the traffic in Taiwan. It looks like a little different between Taiwan and Canada. In Canada, people drive straight in the same line and don’t change the road very often. But in Taiwan, the situations are always happened anytime. At first, Ken felt angry, he always thought that “This is my road! Why so many people try to cut my line?” If someone wants to overtake a car in Canada, a car is on next line road will stop until someone left the road.

Taiwan doesn’t like that. Ken called “The Share Road” in Taiwan. “It’s good idea!” Ken emphasized, “But it’s also made me bad. I spent a long time to get with it. I often told my wife what about in Canada blablablablabla, but she always replied ‘We are in Taiwan, you have to follow Taiwanese rules--- even it means no need follow rules.’”

When we talked the topic, I suddenly think something in China. Last year I had been to Shandong for a week. When I went to the airplane, I had a traffic jam. It’s a terrible traffic I’ve ever seen in my life. So many cars didn’t follow traffic sign. There is only two-lines road, but it forcing into many cars more than eight lines from everywhere. Cars’ horns had been going and never stopping. The moment reminded me of some memories in Taiwan. “I miss quiet in Taiwan traffic….I want to go home.” I really hate traffic jam at that moment! I’m afraid delaying the flight.

I have never thought that a foreign feels unhappy with Taiwan traffic. I mean, it’s our home. We’re all used to this kind of traffic, such as China, maybe the Chinese thought the horns sounded like birds song! I’m definably no any discrimination, just as Ken said “We have to follow the rules where I have been lived.”
